About Paleo

Paleo refers to a period in evolution (Paleolithic era) that ended around 10,000 years ago.

It is widely accepted that we only ate what we could hunt and gather. Put simply, our diets only consisted of what nature gave us;
free from the influence of additives, preservatives and chemicals. Of note, the harvesting and processing of grain was still thousands of years away.

Paleo is a way of life that takes us back to our natural food requirements;
free from any unnatural processes and additives such as gluten, dairy, grains, preservatives and refined sugars.

The Paleo Diet is often referred to as the Caveman - Cavewoman diet for these reasons.

Research continues to demonstrate that the Paleo diet is the healthiest way to eat. Our current global health crisis clearly shows that our bodies have not adapted to modern dieting trends. Our foods are stacked and packed with refined sugars, bleached flour, excessive salts and preservatives, trans fats and a host of other chemicals.

Where did we go wrong?

The Paleo diet only uses ingredients that we know and understand to be very good for us, without anything added.
Put simply...straight from the earth...to your mouth.

Our ancestors did not face the huge array of modern day 'dis-eases' and health issues that are overwhelmingly linked to 'compromised' foods, and the 'un-natural' processing techniques.

Almost every day we read new research that demonstrates fresh links between modern day health issues and the food we commonly eat.

Most readily available foods are overly-processed; replacing healthy fats and proteins with refined sugars, chemicals and artificial coloring, just to make it look more appealing, last longer...or most importantly, cost the manufacturer a little less money.

We continue to learn that nature has given us everything we need. We don't need to mess with the program...that just causes problems.

We are a product of nature. Every other species on the planet lives the way nature intended; doing so without the array of 'un-natural' diseases and physical issues that result from 'interference' and 'dabbling' in nature's grand old plan.

This is not a fad diet, or a way to lose ten pounds in a month. The Paleo Way just makes sense...and always will.
